Smoke, fire or sparks?
Leave the home and call 112 first. Then call us.
When to call an emergency electrician
- Complete power cut in your home while neighbours still have power
- A breaker or earth leakage switch that trips again right after you switch it back on
- A burning smell, discolouration or heat from sockets, plugs or the fuse box
- A humming, buzzing or crackling fuse box
- Water in or near electrical equipment
What you can do while you wait
- Switch off the main switch in the fuse box if it is safe to do so
- Unplug appliances that were running when the fault happened
- Do not touch wet equipment or open sockets and do not unscrew anything in the fuse box
- Check whether neighbours also have no power. If so, it is probably a grid fault, call the grid operator
- Take a photo of the fuse box with the door open and send it by WhatsApp
What to tell us on the phone
Your address, what happened and when, whether the main switch or one breaker tripped, and any smell or noise. A photo of the fuse box speeds things up.
What we do on site
We find the cause, make the installation safe and repair what we can on the spot. If a larger fix is needed, such as replacing an old fuse box, we explain the options and give a quote. Frequent tripping often points to an overloaded circuit, see installing a new circuit.
What does it cost?
For repairs and faults we charge an hourly rate including VAT and call-out costs: during the day (until 18:00) β¬ 120 for the first hour, in the evening (18:00 to 00:00) β¬ 135, and at night and on weekends β¬ 145. The first hour is always charged in full. After that we charge per quarter hour: β¬ 25.00 by day, β¬ 27.50 in the evening and β¬ 30.00 at night and on weekends. See the pricing page for all rates.
